Bu sebeple bu kayna\u011f\u0131, ekosistem temelli yakla\u015f\u0131mlarla koruyarak y\u00f6netecek, sucul ekosistemler ile deniz ve i\u00e7 su kaynaklar\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fclebilirli\u011fini sa\u011flayacak, biyoteknolojik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalara y\u00f6n verecek, akuak\u00fclt\u00fcr, bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131l\u0131k, su \u00fcr\u00fcnleri i\u015fleme teknolojileri ve g\u0131da g\u00fcvenli\u011fi alan\u0131nda yetkin m\u00fchendisler yeti\u015ftirmek Su Bilimleri Fak\u00fcltesinin temel amac\u0131d\u0131r.<\/p><p>D\u00fcnyan\u0131n \u00f6nde gelen \u00fcniversiteleri ile nitelikli i\u015fbirlikleri geli\u015ftiren Su Bilimleri Fak\u00fcltesi \u015fimdiye kadar 21 \u00fcniversite ile Erasmus de\u011fi\u015fim anla\u015fmas\u0131 imzalam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Uluslararas\u0131 ili\u015fkiler sayesinde kurulan i\u015fbirlikleriyle ve tecr\u00fcbeli akademik kadromuz sayesinde ald\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131z e\u011fitim ile sadece \u00fclkemiz i\u00e7in de\u011fil uluslararas\u0131 sekt\u00f6re de hizmet verme donan\u0131m\u0131na sahip olacaks\u0131n\u0131z. Mustafa Kemal ATAT\u00dcRK taraf\u0131ndan 02\/03\/931 tarih ve 10746 say\u0131l\u0131 yaz\u0131s\u0131 ile \u201cDenizlerimizde mevcut t\u00fcrlerin tespiti, bir ara\u015ft\u0131rma gemisinin faaliyete ge\u00e7irilmesi i\u00e7in ekipman al\u0131nmas\u0131 bilimsel tabanl\u0131 bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131l\u0131k faaliyetlerinin geli\u015ftirilmesi,\u201d talimat\u0131n\u0131 vermi\u015f; b\u00f6ylece ilk akademik ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. 1951 y\u0131l\u0131nda Ord. Prof. Dr. KOSSWIG\u2019in giri\u015fimi ile \u0130stanbul \u00dcniversitesi Hidrobiyoloji Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc kurulmu\u015ftur. Enstit\u00fc 1982 y\u0131l\u0131na kadar hem i\u00e7sularda hem de denizlerde hidrobiyoloji alan\u0131nda \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli bilimsel ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirmi\u015ftir. Hidrobiyoloji Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc\u2019n\u00fcn 1982 y\u0131l\u0131nda kapat\u0131lmas\u0131ndan sonra enstit\u00fcye ait k\u00fct\u00fcphane, baz\u0131 laboratuvar ekipmanlar\u0131, bal\u0131k \u00f6rnekleri ve di\u011fer su \u00fcr\u00fcnleri koleksiyonu, akademisyen ve teknik personelinin b\u00fcy\u00fck bir k\u0131sm\u0131 ayn\u0131 y\u0131l kurulan b\u00fcy\u00fck bir k\u0131sm\u0131 ayn\u0131 y\u0131l kurulan Su \u00dcr\u00fcnleri Y\u00fcksekokuluna devredildi. D\u00f6rt y\u0131ll\u0131k lisans mezunu veren okul 1993 y\u0131l\u0131nda Su \u00dcr\u00fcnleri Fak\u00fcltesi\u2019ne d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr\u00fcld\u00fc, \u00e7a\u011f\u0131n gerekliliklerine g\u00f6re geli\u015ftirilen m\u00fcfredat ve \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma alanlar\u0131ndaki ilerlemeler ile ad\u0131 2017 y\u0131l\u0131nda Su Bilimleri Fak\u00fcltesi olarak de\u011fi\u015ftirildi.<\/p><p>Su Bilimleri Fak\u00fcltesi kurulu\u015f amac\u0131 gere\u011fi su kaynaklar\u0131 y\u00f6netimi, su kalitesi, akuatik ekosistemlerin y\u00f6netimi ve bu kaynaklardan elde edilen g\u0131dalar\u0131n g\u00fcvenli\u011fi\/muhafazas\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma \u00f6ncelikleri aras\u0131ndad\u0131r. <br \/>Akuatik ekosistemlerin (g\u00f6ller, nehirler, deltalar, denizler vd.) biyolojik \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fi, ekolojik dengesi ve korunmas\u0131na y\u00f6nelik ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar yan\u0131nda su kaynaklar\u0131n\u0131n s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fclebilir kullan\u0131m\u0131, korunmas\u0131 ve y\u00f6netimi \u00fczerine stratejiler geli\u015ftirmek, su kaynaklar\u0131 \u00fczerindeki iklim de\u011fi\u015fikli\u011finin etkileri ve adaptasyon stratejilerini ara\u015ft\u0131rmak, bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131l\u0131k kaynaklar\u0131n\u0131n y\u00f6netimi, akuatik kaynakl\u0131 g\u0131dalar\u0131n muhafazas\u0131 ve g\u0131da g\u00fcvenli\u011finin sa\u011flanmas\u0131, akuatik canl\u0131 kaynaklar\u0131ndan sa\u011fl\u0131k ve kozmetik alan\u0131nda de\u011ferlendirmek \u00fczere etken madde ve \u00fcr\u00fcn geli\u015ftirilmesi, gen \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 ve \u00e7evre ile etkile\u015fimleri, akuak\u00fclt\u00fcrde yeni end\u00fcstriyel \u00fcr\u00fcn ve sistemlerin geli\u015ftirilmesi gibi toplum \u00fczerinde etkileri geni\u015f yay\u0131l\u0131m g\u00f6steren disiplinler aras\u0131 bir m\u00fchendislik alan\u0131d\u0131r. Yukar\u0131da bahsi ge\u00e7en konularda donan\u0131ml\u0131 Su Bilimleri M\u00fchendisleri yeti\u015ftirmektedir.<\/p><p>Su Bilimleri Fak\u00fcltesi alan\u0131nda d\u00fcnyan\u0131n se\u00e7kin akademik kurumlar\u0131ndan biridir. Se\u00e7kin bilim insan\u0131 kayna\u011f\u0131na ve modern ekipmanlar ile donat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olan laboratuvarlara sahip olan Su Bilimleri Fak\u00fcltesinde Biyoteknolojiden G\u0131da G\u00fcvenli\u011fine, Bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131l\u0131k Kaynaklar\u0131n\u0131n y\u00f6netiminden Kutup ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131na pek \u00e7ok alan\u0131nda etki de\u011feri olduk\u00e7a y\u00fcksek olan ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fclmektedir. Fak\u00fcltemizde 4 B\u00f6l\u00fcm ve bu B\u00f6l\u00fcmlere ba\u011fl\u0131 9 Anabilim Dal\u0131 mevcuttur.
